Best Place to Be Visit Near Mumbai and Pune in Rainy Season: Lonawala

When I came to pune for my studies in 2005, I was very much excited as I had listen a lot about places that are very much famous like Lonawala, Khandala, Mahabaleswar and all that places. These places are like heaven for nature lovers. After attending few days of college, I mixed up with my new friends. Perfect time to visit in Lonawala is rainy season and rainy season start in pune nearly month of June. After few discussion with my friends everybody had decided to go Lonawala at sunday.
We were told that everybody need togather at Podium of our college at sharp 7:00am. Then we will take autos and reach station, from there we will take local train whose fare was near 7Rs/- from pune. As it was starting of our college so everybody had a good habit of getting up early in the porning, If you aks us to get up by the 10:00am today it is impossible for us. So we were near 16 persons.Reach to podium. Then we took autorikshaw and reach to station. everybody had given 100rs/- to rishi as he was C.R(class represntative) for fare and that expences. Everybody was very much excited as it was our first journy with new friends at new place. Our seniurs told us to carry rain coats as well becoze rain fall is very much there. By By 8:00am we were in local train as it was standing on plateform number 3. Everybody were in mood for full enjoyment. When our train left plateform we shouted very loudly with happiness of joy .Everybody in train apart from our group started staring us. But we din't care about them.In the hole journey we started playing "Antakshari" and sang sons very loudly had fun all the way.
It took nearly one hour or 45mins to reach Lonawala from pune. When we reached the station. it was really very much beautifull climate over there whe crossing the market there it started little bit of breezing rain. After a walk of 15 mins we came out of market and on the way to our destiny. First came the dam it is kaind of project by "TATA". Hole dam was full with water and clouds were so dence as we were not able to the end of dam as cloud and water were mixed up at other corner. After crossing the dam there was start of mountains...Small water falls were comin out from them. We saw lots of couples there enjoying their rain bath or waterfall bath...But we were happy as no girls were with us as it always happens in our group.Without girls we can enjoy our freedom very much.

Then we reach to "Khadagwasla Dam".It was really nics to see that place. At time our group split in two some were saying to go from other side and we said we will go for tracking. So after splitting we took the more adventures way through bushes and all that...as you can see in picture. The green atmoshphere there was really very much pleasent. One thing was there really very nice when rain will atart and end nobody knows..within a second it will start and next moment it will stop. After crossing ththrough way we reach to the one of the biggest waterfall there. everybody was so excited that they went for bath without removing their cloths and all that stuff. We enjoyed a lot over there. Afet spending two to three ours we came back. but this was not the end all of us were very hungry. Near khadaagwasla dam there for few shops of tee and breakfast. First time i liked the Marathi Breakfast named "VadaPav". All of us were wet and feeling cold as wind was blowing there. Everybody had taken Vadapav and ask for another as it was hot. At that time our remaing group came back. So we decide to go further places like tiger point , echo point and all that. People told us that these are little bit far so we hired two "Qualish" there and went over that place. The first sight at tiger point was really ammazing. At moment evrything was clearly visible then cloud came and coverd everything as we were not able to see each other.
Then we take corn there and a cup of tee at that moment one of our friend went and open the back gate of our vechile plaed the music in full volume that that moment i was able to control on myself and start dancing on road itself...My friends also get excitd and joined me..all of danced in full "masti". People there also looked us like strangers and also enjoyed our dance party. At that time all of us enjoyed a lot. It was near 5:00pm. From there we also went to "Khandala". Though this place was more popular becoze of song in movie GULAM named "Aati Kya Khandala". There was nothing special there. Monkey point,Sun Set point and few more. There was nothing special there to enjoy. So we decide to come back as last train was at 7:20pm. When we entered in train we were completly wet. Everybody was asking for window seat as it was requirment of that time..hope you understand it very well why..??

How to reach there:-
By Air:
The travelers who wish to travel to Lonavala by air can land at the Pune airport which is well-connected to the various other towns of India through many domestic airlines and it is located at a distance of 64 km from Lonavala.
By Rail:
Since Lonavala is located between the Mumbai and Pune broad gauge rail network, you can easily travel either from Mumbai or from Pune by the express trains that ply from one city to another. It would take around two and a half hours from Mumbai to Lonavala and one hour from Pune to Lonavala. The local train network is equally good and it takes one and a half hours to reach Lonavala by rail.
By Road:
Lonavala is located at a distance of 92 kms from Mumbai and the smooth and well-maintained network of the roadways allows the tourists in reaching Lonavala by the road transport quite conveniently. The road journey would be an exciting one since you will come across a diverse terrain and an unmatched scenic beauty that will simply accentuate the joy of road travel to Lonavala.
We came back to pune and really i enjoyed there lot all of us. Really remember that day always. If you are nature lover liked to get wet you should go there defiantly.
