Places To Be Visited in Rajasthan + Rajasthan Tourism Part 2: Ajmer, Pushkar and Chittor Fort or Chittorgarh Fort, Largest Fort in India

Ajmer Shareef : Ajmer Dargah

We booked a cab from Jaipur  and started our journey in morning. First decided to go to Ajmer shareef, famous sufi shrine of sufi saint, Moinuddin Chishti located at Ajmer. As soon as one enters the interior of the shrine, he feels as if he is in the presence of some exalted soul or mighty spiritual king.

Pushkar is a sacred town for the Hindus, situated 11 kms. (7 miles) to the North-West of Ajmer.
Air:-
Jaipur, the nearest airport is 138 kms. (86 miles).
Rail:-
Ajmer is connected to Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Udaipur, Abu Road and Jodhpur by regular trains. Two of the best trains of the Indian Railways, Pink City Express and Shatabdi Express connect Ajmer to Delhi and Jaipur.

 I got an opportunity to see the Bhandardara Hill Station when i was in my college, I feel very proud to see this places and feel very peace of mind.I have no words to express in words. All are very wonderful natural places which is still saved in naturally.
Bhandardara is blessed with three things - rejuvenating climate, charming mountains and explicit quietness.
Major Tourist Attractions:
Bhandardara sits by the Pravara River, and is a blend of natural beauty, waterfalls, mountains, tranquility, greenery, invigorating air and pristine ambiance. The Bhandardara Lake and the Randha falls are major tourist attractions.

Wilson Dam: 
The largest earthen dam in the country and one of the oldest dams in Asia, Wilson Dam or Bhandardara Dam is at Bhandardara. The height of the dam is nearly 150 m. The overflowing water makes the Umbrella Falls, which is a picturesque sight during the monsoon season.

Arthur Lake: 
The Arthur Lake setting amidst forests is an exhibition of alluring beauty. Surrounded by the dense canopied forests of the Sahyadri hills, the Arthur Lake gets its water from the meandering Pravara River. The enchanting view of the Radha falls pouring down from the Arthur Lake is bound to steal your heart away. The Radha Falls also serves as a hydropower generation.
Agasti Rishi Ashram: This age-old dwelling place has interesting history. In Hindu methodology epic Ramayana has its description. It is believed that Lord Rama and his brother Laxmana visited Shri Agasti Rishi to seek his blessings. 

 

Mount Kalsubai:
If you are more intresting in tracking this is the place for you. From Bhandardara Tourist can see the highest peak of the sahyadri range, mount kalsubai. Kalsubai with its height and view is popular for trekking and so are the hills near kalsubai. The trek is physically demanding, as Bhandardara is located on a hill and to reach this place one has to do lots of trekking.
 
Ratangad Fort: 
Very popular with nature lovers and trekkers. It offers spectacular views from its ramparts, It is also said that this ancient fort was one of Shivaji’s favourites.

When to Visit:
Bhandardara is most suited to visit after the monsoon season as its beauty emerges only after the rains.

Most Devastating Natural Disasters In World + Uttarakhand News : Natural Disasters Series

Few days back in devastation in Utharakhand, state in India,which shook the complete India. The high loss of life caused by the cloud busting can be attributed to the time it struck and how suddenly it struck. Thousands of people affected because of that, Many shrines, holy places like Kedarnath (If want to know more about Temple history please  read my another post, Shri KedarNath Temple : Holiest & Highest Jyotirling), Iconic Gurudwara Hemkunt Sahib and  many more are badly damaged.  May remain closed for the rest of the year as the road link to the  shrine has been badly damaged. 

Prior to this also in 2004 Tsunami hit and many of us got affected due to that. Here are list of 10 most Devastating Naturals Disasters.



10. Tangshan Earth Quake :  1976 :
     July 28, 1976. It is believed to be the largest earthquake of the 20th century by death toll. The number of deaths initially reported by the Chinese government was 655,000.  It also struck at just before 4 AM, when most people were asleep and unprepared. Tangshan itself was thought to be in a region with a relatively low risk of earthquakes





9.  Antioch Earth Quake : 526AD : Death: 250,000:
 The earthquake was followed by a fire that destroyed most of the buildings left standing by the earthquake. The estimated magnitude for the earthquake is 7.0 on the surface wave magnitude scale. It was followed by 18 months of aftershocks.





8.  Indian Ocean Tsunami : 2004 : Death: 275,000:
The 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake was an undersea megathrust earthquake that occurred on Sunday, 26 December 2004, with an epicentre off the west coast of Sumatra, Indonesia with a magnitude of Mw 9.1–9.3, it is the third largest earthquake ever recorded on a seismograph.





7.  Haiphong Cyclone : 1881 : 300,000:
     The cyclone smashed into the Gulf of Tonkin, setting off tidal waves that flooded the city of Haiphong in northeastern Vietnam, caused widespread destruction, and killed an estimated 300,000 inhabitants.Today, it functions as the outport of the capital, Hanoi.



6. Coringa Cyclone : 1839 : 3000,000:
     This storm caused the third largest loss of life from any tropical cyclone worldwide, tied with Vietnam’s 1881 Haiphong typhoon (also causing 300,000 fatalities). Storms in the Bay of Bengal actually account for seven of the 10 deadliest hurricanes, typhoons and cyclones in recorded history.


5.  Hooghly River Cyclone  : 1737 : 350,000:
     Early in the morning on October 11, 1737, a large cyclone made landfall inside the Ganges River Delta, located just south of Calcutta, West Bengal, India. The cyclone caused a storm surge 10-13 m (30-40 ft) in the Ganges with a reported 381 mm (15 in) of rain falling in a 6-hour period. The storm tracked approximately 330 km (200 mi) inland before dissipating.


4. Bhola Cyclone : 1970 : 500,000:
     The cyclone formed over the central Bay of Bengal on November 8 and traveled north, intensifying as it did so. It reached its peak with winds of 185 km/h (115 mph) on November 11, and made landfall on the coast of Bangladesh that night.


3. Shaanxi Earthquake : 1556 : 830,000:
    Also know as Jiajing earthquake, occurred on the morning of 23 January 1556 in Shaanxi, during the Ming Dynasty.



2. Yellow River Flood  : 1887 : 1.5M:
     The 1938 Yellow River flood was a flood created by the Nationalist Government in central China during the early stage of the Second Sino-Japanese War in an attempt to halt the rapid advance of the Japanese forces. It has been called the "largest act of environmental warfare in history

Places To Be Visited in Rajasthan + Rajasthan Tourist Places + Rajasthan Tourism Part 1

 After long wait, I got a chance to visit to Rajashthan with my family. It was complete one week trip. We started our journey from Jaipur. By evening I reach to Jaipur airport, which is the only international airport in the state of Rajasthan.

If you love to visit ancient places and love the Indian culture, Rajashthan is place for you.  Pink City  Jaipur, City of Lakes Udaypur,  the abode of Lord Brahma Pushkar, Citadel of Cultural & Camels Bikaner, The Undiscovered Splendour Bundi, Jaisalmer - The Golden City and many more. One of the most visited places in India for tourism due to its culture and ancient history. More over how can I forget about Mount Abu - Verdant Oasis in the Hills.

Ajmer is very close to the holy city of Pushkar, the abode of Lord Brahma, one of the very few temples dedicated to Brahma the Creator is located here. For 10 days every November as India's most splendid camel fair takes place here, attended by thousands of locals flashing jewellery and exuding colour.

Hope this time luck will be with India. Last time in 2002, the final between India and Sri Lanka was washed out twice to leave no result. First, Sri Lanka played 50 overs and then India played two overs before the rain caused interruption. The next day, Sri Lanka again played 50 overs and India played eight overs. In the end India and Sri Lanka were declared joint winners.
