E_Khuda

ek din khuda ne mujhse kaha, k teri zindgi bas kuchh pal ki hai,
par wo aayegi tere aagosh me bas ek pal k liye ,
maine khuda se kaha, "us ek pal se zyada, mujhe zindgi nahi chahiye",

khuda ne kaha, teri aagosh me aa k unke hoto pe aayegi muskurahten bepanah,
maine khuda se kaha "mujhe aur koi khushi nahi chahiye"

khuda ne kaha o nadan, sang uske ho kar, is jahan me tu ho jayega tanha,
maine khuda se kaha "gar wo hain sange mere meri aakhri sans tak to, mujhe koi aur saathi nahi chahiye"

khuda ne kaha, k gar wo aayegi tere paas, to tujhe ek boond pani bhi naseeb nahi hoga,
maine khuda se kaha, "bas meri aakhri sans tak wo saath hon mere, is 4 pal ki zindgi me jine k liye, mujhe kuchh aur nahi chahiye",

khuda se raha na gaya, unhone fir kaha, "are o nadan 'wo aayegi teri pahlu me teri maut ban kar'"
maine kaha "gar itni hasin aur khushnuma meri maut hain, to mujhe zindgi nahi chahiye

"Garba" Ultimate Group Dance

Garba is an Indian form of dance that originated in the Gujarat region. It is more similar to Western folk dance than to the presentational style of Indian classical dances such as bharatanatyam and odissi.How To Play:-

The dancers use sticks at the end of which tiny bells (ghungrus) are tied so that they give off a clear jingling sound when they strike one another. This dance has a very complicated rhythm pattern and even though the dancers begin in a slow tempo, the dance develops in such manner that each person in the circle not only performs a solo dance with his own sticks, but also has a complex multiple relationship with both his partners on either side as also partners opposite him in the circles. The circle keeps breaking sometimes into two concentric circles and sometimes into three or four circles within the orbit of a larger circle.
The dancers of each concentric circle then weave patterns with each other and with members of the other circle. There is a great deal of freedom in the movements and sticks are beaten in standing, sitting or lying position. Occasionally, the men weave patterns of an intertwined rope in a circle; they lie on the floor with the two sticks being beaten above their heads and chests; sometimes instead of hands, the feet hold and strike the sticks.Dressing:-

Both men and women usually wear colorful costumes while performing garba and dandiya. The girls and the women wear ghaghra choli, a three-piece dress with choli on the top and ghaghra as bottom, made of cotton with beads, shells, mirrors, sitars, and embroidery work, mati, jhumkas, necklaces, bindi, bajubandh, chudas and kangans, kamarbandh, payal, and mojiris and dupatta tucked in the Gujarati manner. Boys and men wear kafni pyjamas with a kediyu - a short round kurta - above the knees and pagadi on the head with bandhini dupatta, kada, and mojiris.

Gudi Padwa :- Begining of new year

The first Holy festival which marks the beginning of the New Year, new month and new day for the Hindus falls on Chaitra Shukla Pratipada. It is known as Gudhi Padwa (Maharashtra), Ugadi (Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh). [In other parts of country it is celebrated during Nau Roz (Kashmir), Baisakhi (Punjab), Cheti Chand (Sindhi), Naba Barsha (Bengal), Goru Bihu (Assam), Puthandu (Tamil Nadu), Vishu (Kerala)] On this very day Lord Brahma created the Universe. Therefore for Hindus, this day carries special importance. The day is celebrated with an auspicious bath, followed by decorating the doorway with a ‘toran’, performing ritualistic worship and hoisting the Dhwaja or Gudhi.Gudi Padwa is celebrated on the first day of the Chaitra month. The word ‘padwa’ is derived from Pratipada, the first day of a lunar month or the first day after nomoon day (Amavasya). Being the first day of the first month of a year, Gudhi Padwa is the New Year's day for Maharashtrians. India was, and still is to a certain extent, a predominantly agrarian society. Thus, celebrations and festivals were often linked to the turn of the season and to the sowing and reaping of crops. This day marks the end of one harvest and the beginning of a new one, which for an agricultural community signifies the beginning of a New Year. In the case of Gudhi Padwa, it is celebrated at the end of the Rabi season. The term ‘padava’ or ‘padavo’ is also associated with Diwali, another New Year celebration that comes at the end of the harvesting season, thus substantiating the agricultural link to the festival.

Significance of Chaitra Shukla Pratipada

On this day the Tej and Prajapati frequencies are effective in large measures. During sunrise on this day, the Chaitanya (Divine Consciousness) emitted from these frequencies can be retained for a longer period.

It is accumulated in the cells of the embodied soul and is used by the embodied soul as and when required. Therefore within 5-10 minutes of sunrise one should perform ritualistic worship of the Gudi.

Jai Mata Di...Navratri Festival of 9 nights

Navratri (Sanskrit: नवरात्रि,) is a Hindu festival of worship and dance. The word Navaratri literally means nine nights in Sanskrit; Nava meaning Nine and Ratri meaning nights. During these nine nights and ten days, nine forms of Shakti/Devi i.e. female divinity are worshipped.
Nine names of Godess are
* Durga, the inaccessible one
* Bhadrakali
* Amba or Jagadamba
* Annapurna
* Sarvamangala
* Bhairavi
* Chandika or Chandi
* Lalita
* Bhavani
* Mookambika

According to the Hindu calendar, Navratri begins from the first day of the bright fortnight of Ashwin which usually coincides with the end of the rainy season.Durga, the divine mother, had destroyed the evil force (in the form of the demon Mahisashura) during this period.

The festival is celebrated with true devotion and purity all over the country. People from various sections of the society irrespective of caste and creed celebrate this festival by visiting temples and offering pujas at the Mother’s feet.

In some places special puja samarohas are also held by setting the images of Mother Durga on beautifully decorated pandals. Temples dedicated to Shakti also make arrangement for pujas and bratas to mark these nine days as true symbols of devotion and adoration towards the divine mother.

The most characteristic dances of Gujarat during Navratri are the Rasa and Garba dances which are performed at all levels of society by men and women.The origin of the Rasa is traced back to the legends connected with the life of Lord Krishna. It is essentially associated with the agricultural rites. The Rasa is performed in Gujarat India on Navaratra; and other important festivals associated with harvest and crops. The Rasa dances of Saurashtra are closely related to agricultural functions and are for the best part grain-ritual dance.

TATA's Nano, "people's Nano"

Finally LAKH Takiya car has been launched crossing all the hurdles as in Bengal....today Ratan Tata has launched the most awaited car of the year...First gear takes takes you to 33 kph and a quick shift to second is capable of showing you almost 60 kph (in 8.66 seconds). Mind you, there are no excessive vibrations or loud noise accompanying the progress. The gutsy little 35 bhp engine surprises you with its energy levels though.
Like with all new concepts, there are a few things that you have to come to terms with in the Nano. Like the single blade wiper, the fact that the tyre sizes are different for the front and rear, that the engine cannot be accessed from outside (you need to open eight wing nuts inside the car to do that), that the spare tyre is up front, you fill fuel after opening the bonnet and so on. Plastic quality is passable, but the cloth upholstery in the LX version we drove was very good indeed. Instrumentation inside the car consists of a speedo and a digital fuel gauge that also houses an odometer and nothing more.All of that is stacked in the middle so that it is easier to make a left-hand drive version as and when the Nano goes abroad. Frugal engineering continues with power window buttons housed in the centre console instead of the doors.

A development, which signifies a first for the global automobile industry, the People’s Car brings the comfort and safety of a car within the reach of thousands of families. The People’s Car will be launched in India later in 2008.

here are some of the featuers of "NANO"
Can Carry- 4
Kerb Weight- 600Kg
Engine- 624CC,2Cylinder(Multi point fuel injection)
Gears- 4+reverse

Meets all safety requirements:-
The People’s Car’s safety performance exceeds current regulatory requirements. With an all sheet-metal body, it has a strong passenger compartment, with safety features such as crumple zones, intrusion-resistant doors, seat belts, strong seats and anchorages, and the rear tailgate glass bonded to the body. Tubeless tyres further enhance safety.

SRK & Amir "cold war continues"...By sify movies

The Aamir-SRK `Cold War` just turned a little warmer, and we see no light at the end of the tunnel now!
In an interview on CCN`s Talk Asia, Aamir Khan took another swipe at Shah Rukh when he was asked about his status as Bollywood`s new `King Khan` following the Ghajini success. The actor thoughtfully replied: `I had absolutely no intention of kicking Shah Rukh off his pedestal. Though I have to say, I don`t think he ever was on it.`
"Sex is not requierd in my film ,my name is enough"

He went on (don`t read any further, SRK): `In my opinion, the actor who I really look up to is Mr. Amitabh Bachchan. He is someone whose work I really like, a fantastic actor and the kind of stardom Mr. Bachchan has seen, none of us can ever hope to see.`

Punjabis Dominate Bollywood Releases This Season:The Hindu reports

Mumbai (IANS): It's time for bhangra. Three films to be released in the next fortnight will have one common theme - a Punjabi background.

Aloo Chaat, Ek - The Power of One and Videsh all have either a Punjabi or someone settled in Punjab as the principal protagonist.

"In Aloo Chaat, I play the part of an NRI who returns to his Punjabi family based in Delhi with a prospective bride," says Aftab Shivdasani, who is actually hard to be imagined as a young Punjabi man. However, director Robby Grewal, who is a Punjabi from Delhi, has ensured that the Punjabi milieu is very much on the forefront in his third directorial outing.

While his supporting actors like Kulbhushan Kharbanda and Manoj Pahwa are shown to be hardcore Punjabis, there is this entire culture drive revolving around Punjabiyat in the film. No wonder the film promises to feature Punjabi celebrations in full fervour. There are Yash Chopra style "ladies sangeets" featuring the entire cast of the film too.

For director Sangeeth Sivan, it was obvious to move into a Punjabi setting once he settled down on Bobby Deol as his leading man for Ek - The Power of One.
"Ek is a remake of Telugu film Athadu and once I decided to remake the film with Bobby Deol in the lead, there was no other place to go than Punjab. The mustard fields there bring an altogether different look and feel to the film," says Sivan.

No wonder the romantic outings of Bobby Deol and Shreya Saran are in the mustard fields. The fight sequences feature Bobby Deol taking on a bunch of Sikhs.

Videsh, of course, is a serious film that has been highly acclaimed well before its release in India. The film features Preity Zinta in the role of Chand, a young woman from Ludhiana who moves to the US with her husband (Vansh Bhardwaj). She immediately faces challenges in her new household with immense family pressure and lack of living space turning out to be the core problem areas.

"Though Preity is not a Punjabi by birth, she looks extremely convincing as one," says an industry follower.

With more Delhi-based films like Love Aaj Kal and It's My Life releasing soon, there may be more portrayals of Punjabi culture on offer this year.
