 I got an opportunity to see the Bhandardara Hill Station when i was in my college, I feel very proud to see this places and feel very peace of mind.I have no words to express in words. All are very wonderful natural places which is still saved in naturally.

Bhandardara is blessed with three things - rejuvenating climate, charming mountains and explicit quietness.

Major Tourist Attractions:

Bhandardara sits by the Pravara River, and is a blend of natural beauty, waterfalls, mountains, tranquility, greenery, invigorating air and pristine ambiance. The Bhandardara Lake and the Randha falls are major tourist attractions.

Wilson Dam: 

The largest earthen dam in the country and one of the oldest dams in Asia, Wilson Dam or Bhandardara Dam is at Bhandardara. The height of the dam is nearly 150 m. The overflowing water makes the Umbrella Falls, which is a picturesque sight during the monsoon season.

Arthur Lake: 

The Arthur Lake setting amidst forests is an exhibition of alluring beauty. Surrounded by the dense canopied forests of the Sahyadri hills, the Arthur Lake gets its water from the meandering Pravara River. The enchanting view of the Radha falls pouring down from the Arthur Lake is bound to steal your heart away. The Radha Falls also serves as a hydropower generation.

Agasti Rishi Ashram: This age-old dwelling place has interesting history. In Hindu methodology epic Ramayana has its description. It is believed that Lord Rama and his brother Laxmana visited Shri Agasti Rishi to seek his blessings. 

 

Mount Kalsubai:

If you are more intresting in tracking this is the place for you. From Bhandardara Tourist can see the highest peak of the sahyadri range, mount kalsubai. Kalsubai with its height and view is popular for trekking and so are the hills near kalsubai. The trek is physically demanding, as Bhandardara is located on a hill and to reach this place one has to do lots of trekking.
 

Ratangad Fort: 

Very popular with nature lovers and trekkers. It offers spectacular views from its ramparts, It is also said that this ancient fort was one of Shivaji’s favourites.

When to Visit:

Bhandardara is most suited to visit after the monsoon season as its beauty emerges only after the rains.
